Stuff I Forgot to Blog About

AKP rant - I've been meaning to write out this huge long rant about AKP, but I don't have time. This will suffice. For now... -_-*

Art Fest - Last week, went to Fall Art Festival. After several years of seeing the same artists (at both Fall and Spring Art Festivals every year), it gets less exciting and much faster to walk through. ^^; But, ooh, shiny things~! Can't afford to buy art right now anyway, and didn't find any Xmas gifts. But we did get food from a (new?) Thai-American food stand; tofu pad thai was actually quite good for $6. :P Also ate a guava-and-cream-cheese empanada (a different stand, obviously lol); little oily but yum.

Art Hop - This past Fri., went to "Art Hop" with a couple of nice dental school guys (a quasi-date for Sis & Scott, plus me & Steven tag-alongs, but surprisingly refreshing rather than awkward ^^;). Strolled through small shopping center of boutiques for beads, antiques, chocolate, stained glass, crafts, art, and more beads. Very low-key, and we were the youngest people there, but still interesting. Plus, yay free cookies and cider.

Minor Car Accident - Sat. was Dad's bday. Oh, and we got into a small fender-bender. We were the 2nd car stopped at a red light. We were just chatting when all of a sudden wham! shoved forward. Thankfully it wasn't that hard (mostly just shocking) and there were no injuries. The old lady behind us just didn't realize how close we were and didn't brake enough. We pulled over and exchanged info. A good samaritan even pulled over after us and said he saw what happened, asked if we were all okay, and offered to be a witness if needed. What a nice person! Anyway, the car had minimal damage, little more than cosmetic scratches, and insurance covers so everything's fine. Couldn't help but be jittery afterwards though. Maggie got over it pretty quickly and was mostly just pissed off that it happened to her, the lady couldn't even find her insurance, we were almost late for something, and then she accidentally deleted the samaritan's phone number from her new phone (oops!). Needless to say, she got a bad headache. Meanwhile, I had a dull headache, too, and even felt some nausea, probably from the shock and change in blood pressure. But afterwards we felt better when we did some errands, shopped at Target and Ross (yay bargain Xmas gift shopping =), and ate at Olive Garden, my favorite chain restaurant (they never disappoint me, not once in 20 years).

Sample Fest - Sun. we were obligated to go to Sam's for their Holiday Sample Fest. A bit disappointed this year, but at least there was pumpkin cheesecake, bruschetta, salsa/hummus/spinach-artichoke dip w/ pita chips, ham and scalloped potatoes, juice, cocoa, and cider. Still not enough for a meal though so we went to Adam's Rib; good pork sandwich and coleslaw, but their "seasoned fries" are like not seasoned at all. =/ (Yes, I must include a food report with every incident I write about.)

Avatar - Then I found out the last disc of Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 3 was ready for pick-up, so I drove to the library by myself. This is a big deal for me because I hate driving anywhere outside my small hometown, to the point that it's almost a phobia in college town (seriously). Add the fender-bender from the day before, and I was even more nervous, but thankfully the traffic was mild and the trip quick. And YES, we finally finished A:TLA! What an awesome, incredibly well-made epic show. The 2nd greatest American cartoon ever made (after Batman The Animated Series of course). I already want to watch the whole series for my third time.

Shortpacked! - I've rediscovered this geeky webcomic, and I've been plowing through the archives like crazy. I love how it's superficially a toy collector and comic book geek comic (the Batman jokes are what drew me in), but it's also full of absurd sci-fi and soap (I stay for the "Drama Tag" love octagon). And yet the cartoonist is a mad genius who writes the dramedy so compellingly that I'm shipping a dysfunctional sociopathic couple who's built on blackmail, hatesex, and both being broken in a way that works together. D'aww.

Laters! - Today I have to cram-pack then drive home. We're starting Thanksgiving weekend early to go to the Cake Wrecks party in Orly whoo! Full report of the monster Feast Week when I get back. Til then, HAPPY THANKSGIVING! ^_^

Jung Min at H-Artistry

Park Jung Min DJs, shuffles, & performs w/ international artists in H-Artistry Global Art of Mixing Party!

PJM performed in the exclusive invitation-only Hennessy mix party alongside American dance/R&B singer-songwriter/producer Chris Willis, Australian "We No Speak Americano" Yolanda Be Cool, "Taiwan's Beyonce" Landy Wen, and Malaysia's top DJs Goldfish & Blink.

He wowed the crowd with his powerful performance (including a duet with Landy) and his transformation into a mixing and shuffling DJ Park (favorite dance tracks and his own songs)!

Happy 11-11-11 Veterans & Pepero Day!

Random Fandom that has nothing to do with the post title:

Mario Mushroom Candy Tin
Ew, sour candy. But couldn't resist the Cute! This is all part of Steven Lee's evil genius plans.
(On a related note, I also made my own little paper mushroom from a print-out pattern. =)

Greatest crossover fanart ever!
By gabzillaz . In order of Robin/Bennet and matched. It's so perfect. XD
"Dick as Jane (the pretty one)
Jason as Elizabeth (the black sheep)
Tim as Mary (the bookworm)
Steph as Catherine (the Robin that’s always ignored)
Damian as Lydia (the one nobody likes)"
Why I love Blue Beetle III
From the "Secret Files" of the Batman: The Brave and the Bold comics. Oh, Jaime, never change. ^_^

The Flaming C!

Created by Conan O'Brien and God of the DC Animated Universe Bruce Timm!
I'm rather ambivalent about the upcoming Green Lantern: The Animated Series, but I'd totally watch FC:TAS! XD I also love how they inserted Flaming C into 2 clips from Young Justice, replacing Superman and using Bruce Greenwood's Bat-voice. lol.

Wahhh~ I want to go to L'Arc~en~Ciel's New York concert!!! Why couldn't it line up with spring break? Why is NY so far? This is their 20th L'Anniversary! Will I ever get another chance to see my favorite rock band live?! TT____TT
Holy crap, I love this photo. Dark, luxurious, and sexy~

Birthday Week

10/31 Monday - I never dress up for Halloween (too cheap to buy a costume, too lazy to make my own, too anti-social to need one anyway XD;), but this year I made my own pair of Bat-ears:
(No, not cat ears, not bat ears, Bat(man)-ears.)
Actually they were for Maggie because I refused to let her dress as Batgirl wearing cat ears. We're Batfans, for pete's sake, and no true Batfan should settle for cat ears when Bat-ears can't be found! XP So I made simple ones with origami paper and pinned them to her hair. (The photo is version 2.0 with a headband and tape.) It's no cape-and-cowl, but it worked. ^^

11/1 Tuesday - Anyway, besides seeing the cute costumed kiddies, the only part of Halloween I really enjoy is the after-Halloween candy sale right before my birthday. Muahahaha~! XD

11/2 Wednesday - Had a pretty good birthday. ^^ Maggie and I met at home for lunch, where I baked cranberry-orange muffins (from a box, but a yummy cake alternative) and veggie 'n pasta with cream sauce (improvised because I had to eat noodles for my birthday (Chinese tradition), but also a surprising success :).
Maggie gave me my present then. It was a purple "take-out" box stuffed with a long, soft purple scarf, 2 pairs of cute violet socks, a knit cap with multi-color stripes, and Pillsbury chocolate chip cookie-flavored chapstick. 8D And, as is our family's tradition and pride, it was all on sale. lol.
(Yes, I am obsessed with purple/violet. ♥)
Later, we went to Fuji Hana for dinner. I was very happy with my complimentary birthday entree, pork katsu rice bowl. Delicious! In fact, I already want to go back and have it again. :P  The rest of the family couldn't visit lately, but I got calls and ecards. ^^ Finally, Ben 'n Jerry's strawberry cheesecake ice cream for dessert. My fav!

Thanks to JDN for the sugary sweet ecard!
So love the 2nd photo. Jung Min~♥

11/3 Thursday - Prince Young Saeng's birthday! Saengil chukhahamnida! Ahh, d'Ottergnan cake so cute!

11/4 Friday - My online rant buddy's birthday! Happy birthday, Ivy! ^o^
(That's @tetsu_girl, @mystyle1103, and @IvyTD. lol ;)

11/5 Saturday - Got a free birthday meal at Moe's. I was amazed their eClub birthday gift wasn't BOGO, but actually free with no extra charge or purchase necessary. I just ordered and gave the coupon, and they gave me my Homewrecker with chips. Nice!
