- iZombie - quirky, witty procedural that has become a surprise fav; love Ravi.
- Reign - strong S3, even after Francis' death </3 & splitting story into 3 queens in 3 countries; love seeing Mary in Scotland finally; Frary forever otp.
- Jessica Jones - Marvel/Netflix series 2; glad for another female superhero lead, totally different from Supergirl; gritty, sometimes sad/disturbing, but well-made urban noir; only watched half so far...
- Downton Abbey - final season! good ending; will miss the Dowager.
- Agent Carter - 2nd & sadly last season; not as good as S1, maybe Hollywood setting, lack of chemistry w/ love interest #3, notp w/ #2, clumsy development w/ #1; no resolution to her story (when/how did she start SHIELD? what happened to her bro? who does she marry? =P); will miss her character and show.
- Daredevil - S2, still excellent; liked the addition of Elektra & Punisher (thought they were psycho at first but then grew to like them?); weirdly Matt/Elektra otp.
Summer 2016
- The 100 - "social justice" fandom wars aside, S3 was involving & intense, not as strong as S2, but got better in 2nd half; still raises fascinating moral questions w/ high stakes drama & non-stop action. also, Bellarke otp.
- Orphan Black - omg to everything, still the best sci-fi drama; so happy Tatiana Maslany finally won her much-deserved Emmy! but so sad S5 will be the end T_T.
- Game of Thrones - binged S5 & S6 together; saw why S5 was not well-received (mistreatment of female characters) while S6 was (female empowerment); suddenly the ladies are ruling everything and i love it! looking forward to last 2(?) seasons.
- The Musketeers - new fav show (until Nikita?); binged S1+2, waiting for S3, last one T_T.
- Mr. Robot - binged S1, unique, smart, intriguing, trippy, fascinating drama about hacktivism, capitalism, conspiracy, freedom, and mental illness; waiting for S2.
- Shadowhunters - S1 was not bad, a flashy adaptation of The Mortal Instruments book series; liked most of what they kept & what they changed/added (like Lydia Branwell); not quite feeling the great Clace, but Sizzy is flirty cute, & Malec otp is on point (thanks to charismatic & gorgeous Matthew Daddario & Harry Shum, Jr.).
Fall 2016
- Supergirl - S2 on CW so smaller budget, more rain (BC instead of LA), and less Cat Grant wit, but Superman, Miss Martian, & Legion of Superheroes, not to mention the epic 4-show DC/CW crossovers, so still very excited! [EtA: so good, surprisingly became the DCTV show i look forward to most this season. really enjoyed the addition of Clark, Snapper Carr, Lena Luthor, Cadmus, Wonder Woman Lynda Carter as Madam POTUS!, Mon-El, M'gann, Maggie Sawyer, even Dichen Lachman as Roulette!] Kara/Mon-El & Malex(?Sanvers?) otp (tied!)
- The Flash - Flashpoint is coming! & Kid Flash & hopefully Barry/Iris. [EtA: FP was cool; post-FP story even more interesting. yay, Jesse Quick & Killer Frost!] WestAllen otp.
- Jane the Virgin - still a consistently enjoyable family dramedy fav.
- Superstore - funny workplace comedy about Wal-Mart shenanigans; like the diverse cast (esp lead America Ferrera from Ugly Betty); binged S1, now on S2.
Current Binge-Watch
- Nikita - new fav show for Mom & me! liked the premise, cast, writing, & style from the 1st ep & loved the whole 1st season of spy plots, missions, conspiracies, & twists; halfway into S2 now, at rate of about 1 season/week, will be very sad after 4th & final season. [EtA: finished the whole series & am so upset that this wonderful show only lasted 3.3 seasons (even though it's 100x better than Arrow which is on S5, why?!). the magic of S1 did fade a teensy bit w/ each season, but S4 gave a satisfying ending to wrap up the story at least. T_T] Mikita otp.
- Poldark - liked S1, though not quite engaged w/ Cornwall mining problems; definitely more involved w/ family drama. [EtA: especially riveting in S2. really looking forward to S3!] Romelza otp.
- Victoria - new British historical drama about Queen Victoria. [EtA: beautiful acting & directing, lush visuals, & delicious romance. love it & can't wait for S2!] Vicbert otp.
- Arrow - ugh, i want to drop it like Gotham because it's becoming a chore to watch, but i'll stick around just to keep up with DCW-verse and Laurel/Canary who deserves better (and will hopefully get it when she hops around different DCW shows). [EtA: still have not watched this season. can i get away w/ skipping it? except for crossover or Laurel eps.]
- DC's Legends of Tomorrow - a little messy but a lot of fun sci-fi action with superhero team-ups.
- Vixen - 2nd season (or full-length feature) of CW Seed's animated web series in DCW-verse.
- Gotham - dropped after "gritty" S1; want to watch just for baby BatCat otp and snarky Alfred.
- Crazy Ex-Girlfriend - stupid (subversive) title but clever, funny, surprisingly poignant and relevant musical comedy; satirizes society and pop culture while dealing with 20s identity crises and mental illness.
- Elementary - still a consistently enjoyable (better than Sherlock) procedural drama fav.
- [FYI: Constantine and Forever - both "one-season wonder" favs available for free streaming on CW Seed!]
Maybe Someday?
- Brooklyn Nine-Nine - based on tumblr, looks just as funny & charming as fav Parks & Rec.
- Fresh Off the Boat - watched part of S1, sometimes funny/cheesy/relatable; support Asian-American rep!
- Lucifer - never watched but got renewed (unlike poor Constantine) so maybe?
- This Is Us - interesting concept: drama about different people with the same birthday (who turn out to be all from the same family); liked the story & cast (Mandy Moore, Justin Hartley from Smallville, etc.), but dropped after 2 eps because NBC won't stream; DVD later?
- Designated Survivor - cross between The West Wing and Quantico, promising drama, intrigue, issues, & cast (Kiefer Sutherland, Natascha McElhone, Maggie Q, Kal Penn, Virginia Madsen, etc.)
- Salem - supernatural show about witches & witch-hunters looks promising; plus after A Walk To Remember and Nikita marathons, my Shane West crush has intensified.
