Kinky Boots

Got discount tickets to see the Broadway musical Kinky Boots by Cyndi Lauper and Harvey Fierstein, based on the movie and true story of the unlikely friendship between a shoemaker and a drag queen who work together to save the shoe company by creating/catering to a new market of high-heeled boots for men.
Opening set
I'd heard of the title but knew nothing about the show/story, so we went into this based only on the premise and the fact that it won several Tony Awards, including Best Musical. We loved it! It was a wonderful show. Really great songs (both music & lyrics), funny writing, heartwarming story, lovable characters, colorful costumes, stunning sets, and cool choreography. It was a full-blown Broadway spectacle, full of sights, sounds, and feels. Definitely recommended: A!
I love that the audience (which was a mix of young & old) really embraced Lola and her Angels. They laughed, cried, and cheered the loudest for Lola, as they should. By the finale, everyone was on their feet. What a fantastic experience! :D

"Thor: Ragnarok" Review

I finally watched Thor: Ragnarok. It's kinda all over the place--a weird mix of loud, Marvel-quippy, neon-colored Guardians of the Galaxy sci-fi, mythological fantasy, and family drama. It's still good, overall, despite the disjointed "apocalyptic but FUN" plot, but mostly because of the collection of enjoyable moments and characters (similar to Justice League being a huge mess redeemed only by the characters and their individual moments).

Hulk/Banner are used to great effect, Valkyrie lives up to the hype, space Jeff Goldblum is Jeff Goldblum in space, and the villain Hela had the potential to be so much more because Cate Blanchett is great in all her scenes but underutilized since much of the movie is focused elsewhere or played for laughs. I don't think it's necessary to watch Thor 3 before Avengers: Infinity War, but I still recommend it for fun.

Now I just need to see Black Panther
