Hurricanes & Furry Cats

The kitties stayed at our house (in the guest bathroom) while we weathered the big storm.

 

The night of the storm was especially scary because the power line behind our neighbor's house was damaged and sparking with every gust of wind! Called FPL, but they had to prioritize downed power lines, which wasn't the case with us. Thankfully there was no fire, flood, or wind damage. Just lots of debris and no power.

It was way too hot at our house, so we stayed at the kitties' place (in my old room) while we waited for our power to come back. We played with the cats and watched Call the Midwife.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Handbag Haul!

Charming Charlie was having a sale on handbags (plus free shipping over $50), and I had a $20-off-$60-order coupon, so I went a little crazy and bought NINE bags for $43! Granted, they're small/medium-sized bags, but still!

I got the pretty purple bag and lovely leather bag for myself. I chose the turquoise and pink crossbody bags for R, and she liked them and accepted them for future use. M really liked and picked the pretty moon clutch and the cute blue canteen bag, which she used right away. Mom doesn't use small bags, but she liked the red dragon wristlet. I bought 3 of them because it was a great deal and it helped me get to $60, so we'll probably gift them at some point.

I'm so happy with my haul! ^^

Kitties: 2Y, 10M, 1W Old

Serendipity (~10 months old) had her surgery to be spayed a few weeks ago and seemed to be doing well (but hating the cone collar to prevent her licking her wound), but then later, R noticed her belly was swollen and so took her to the vet. Turns out, her incision had become infected because of a rare bad reaction to the sutures material! So they removed the old ones, put new ones, and kept her at the office for a few days for observation. Poor thing had to wear the darn cone for another two weeks, but thankfully, she is now fully healed, recovered, rid of the cone, and happy. <3
