*(Shows) are on my to-watch-later-on-DVD-probably list.
Monday
- Supergirl - best new show! all the heroics, heart, & humor of Flash & Superman but w/ female perspectives. what's not to love? finally, a female superhero on TV!
- Jane the Virgin - most delightful & addictive comedy/romance/telenovela/drama
- *(Gotham) (?) - underwhelmed by gritty, macho, violent S1; not sure if i wanna continue. only care about young Bruce (and by extension, Alfred & Selina).
- The Flash - fav new show of 2014! much-needed fun & feelings lacking in Arrow. (Barris OTP)
- iZombie - quirky, smart, funny procedural mixed w/ supernatural action (consolation for Forever being cancelled ;_;)
- Agents of SHIELD - still not as good as S1 but interesting enough to follow (FitzSimmons OTP)
- *(Fresh Off the Boat) - funny & relatable. 1st Asian American TV family in 20 years!
- Arrow - S4 >> S3. excited for Darkh, HIVE, & especially Constantine (not renewed on NBC =/).
- How to Get Away with Murder - such compelling, addictive drama & yay, bisexual lead & more LGBT & racial diversity!
- *(Elementary) - consistently smart, fun entertainment.
- Reign - S3 >>> S2 so far w/ Frary's bittersweet reunion & the addition of Queen Elizabeth. the 1st third of S3 has been perfect Frary again, and omg all the Frary OTP feels are back in full force! T_T (i'm so angry the writers wasted S2, which should have been Frary's 1 glorious year of marriage.) (Frary OTP)
- The 100 - new (drama) obsession! holy geez, the moral dilemmas, the twists, the exquisite angst & all the FEELS. cannot wait for S3 in 2016!! (the story is the most compelling part, but also Bellarke OTP)
- Orphan Black - SO GOOD. wonderful+devastating, intelligent+intense, feminist+progressive, scifi+drama (ditto for The 100). really looking forward to S4!
- Vixen - short animated Arrow-verse spin-off web series. fast-paced action & great intro for an African American female superhero lead (for live-action, too, hopefully).
- Agent Carter - smart, exciting, sometimes lighthearted, sometimes dramatic post-WWII detective/adventure show w/ a kickass, cunning, efficient, & admirable heroine, like a female Indiana Jones series!
- Daredevil - really great Netflix series. well-crafted drama w/ refreshing honesty in a "superhero" drama about a street-level crimefighter. dark & moody w/o Miller-esque machismo, adult themes w/o overused/graphic sex/violence.
- *(Downton Abbey) - still great period drama. sad it's the final season. i'll miss the Dowager and the Crawleys.
- *(Game of Thrones) - haven't watched S5 yet (but got spoiled online). heard it's not as good, but i'm still invested in the fantasy world & its many characters.
- Parks and Recreation - new (comedy) obsession! funniest & smartest comedy. alas, over too soon. T_T the show ended earlier this year, but I just started watching a few weeks ago, mostly because of funny gifs on tumblr. now I'm hooked. I love all the characters/cast and the clever, hilarious writing. it's like a funny West Wing that serves as both a fantastic spoof of the problems in government and society and a heartwarming testament to the ideals of government and the best of society. i've finished the whole 7-season series, and I'm so bummed that it's over. I'm going to re-watch the whole thing from the beginning because R jumped in around Season 3, which is when it got really good. (Leslie/Ben OTP <3)
- Roommate (Season 2) - Korean reality show about a house full of celebrities (actors, idols, comedians, all ages) living together. so funny & cute! i really miss the family, esp. the bickering magnae couple. (JackJi OTP IRL)
- DC's Legends of Tomorrow - 2016 Arrow/Flash spin-off, team-up show w/ White Canary, Hawkgirl, Atom, Firestorm, etc. i'm so in.
- Jessica Jones - another gritty Netflix series about a street-level crimefighter, except this time, it's a superheroine (Marvel's 1st)! tonally opposite from Supergirl, so yay, variety & depth of female leads!
- *(Lucifer) (?) - based on Vertigo comics. not sure (it's a FOX show about Satan in LA), but maybe?
- *(Preacher) (?) - another Vertigo title. notoriously raunchy & sacrilegious. on AMC. idk.
- *(Titans) (?) - still waiting for word on casting/production from TNT. i'd be thrilled if we got Nightwing/Oracle & other fav characters.
