TV Watch List Spring 2017

Fall 2016 Continued

• Supergirl - continues to please; hope Cat Grant, Miss Martian, & POTUS WW return; KaraMel & Sanvers otp.
• The Flash - still exciting and great, but they better not kill Iris!! WestAllen & QuickWest otp.
• Jane the Virgin - good bye, sweetheart Michael. T_T still great dramedy.
• Superstore - still witty, relevant, and funny.
• Gotham - now clip-watching, only for baby BatCat otp, which is so pure, and Bruce's beautiful development into the man who would be Batman, plus Alfred.

Spring 2017 Additions

• The 100 - ahh, finally, S4! higher stakes, better drama, Adventure Squad & Bellarke (otp) leadership dynamic back, yesss!
• Powerless - new workplace comedy set in DCU, changed from Pilot's insurance company to R&D at Wayne Security; so far, cheesy but charming, geeky, & funny; great cast (Vanessa Hudgens, Danny Pudi, Alan Tudyk, et al.)
• iZombie - too bad S3 will be shorter; Liv & Ravi brotp.
• Reign - S4, sadly the last season but could be the best when focused on political & personal intrigue of 3 fierce queens; Frary forever otp.
• Riverdale - love Archie Comics, but aside from names, this new teen soap doesn't have much in common; despite that, some questionable relationships, & crazy parents, Riverdale is an intriguing enough small-town murder mystery with teen angst & romance (& Luke Perry??), will follow, for now; Betty & Jughead brotp.

Binge-Watch

• Merlin - new fav for me & Mom! classic family-friendly fantasy action-adventure (like Hercules, Xena, or even Charmed), sometimes silly/cheesy but consistently well-written mysteries with magic, friendship, romance, and some royal court intrigue; Arthur/Gwen (Arwen ;) otp. (edit to add: S5 is such Greek tragedy, so sad it's over! T_T)
• The Musketeers - 3rd & final season; so sad it's over! ;_; wonderful action-adventure w/ camaraderie, chivalry, intrigue, & romance; great, fitting, happy ending. <3
• Wallander - 4th & final season; beautifully stark & compelling crime drama.
• BrainDead - political satire/sci-fi horror/dramedy? ^^; hard to describe but surprisingly cohesive & addictive, very clever & timely for insane 2016 Election; unfortunately not renewed for S2, but S1 wrapped up nicely so good as standalone series; Laurel/Gareth otp.
• Silk - short British legal drama, quite interesting, but unsatisfying ending :/, Martha/Clive otp.
• Grease Live! - finally saw the magical live stage/TV production of the musical fav; amazing, charismatic, fantastic homage to the original Broadway & classic movie, plus slightly updated/adapted; in love w/ cast (Aaron Tveit, Julianne Hough, Vanessa Hudgens, Jordan Fisher, et al.)

Coming Soon

• The Ray - new CW Seed animated web series, first show with gay lead superhero!
• Justice League Action - new DC animated show looks like a lot of fun! (w/ better style than current DCAU.)
• Luke Cage - Marvel/Netflix series 3; already out & interested but can't watch until finish JJ.
• Sherlock - S4, post trippy "The Abominable Bride" Christmas special episode.
• Shadowhunters - S2. Malec, Sizzy, Clace otp.
• American Gods - based on Neil Gaiman's bestseller (on my to-read list), about the war between old & new gods; sounds really interesting; plus the lead is Ricky Whittle from The 100.

To Be Continued(?) - Elementary, DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Vixen, Arrow, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Agents of SHIELD, Star Wars: Clone Wars, Fresh Off the Boat, This Is Us, Designated Survivor...
