R brought Mom these lovely little treats from Just Cupcakin' Around. We chose 1 of every flavor (except Boston Cream).
Row 1: Chocolate (not pictured; eaten XD), Carrot Cake, Raspberry Lemonade, Peanut Butter Cup.
Row 2: Chocolate Cheesecake, Key Lime Cheesecake, Chocolate Raspberry, Cinnamon Bun.
Row 3: 2 Pistachio (to replace Boston Cream), Mandarin Orange Pineapple, Banana Split.
These mini cupcakes are excellent! Most cupcakes are half dry cake, half gritty, sugary icing. These, however, have moist, flavorful cakes, usually filled with some pudding surprise, capped with yummy, light, creamy topping (possibly a whipped frosting with cream, pudding, and/or cream cheese). And they did each flavor justice, not a bad one among the bunch. Sure, it's a bit pricey, but these are the best cupcakes we've ever had!
R also tried these big White Chocolate Macadamia, Strawberry Cheesecake, & Oatmeal Raisin cookies, which were very good, too, but just like Subway's cookies. And last but not least, Mini Turtle Cheesecake (Mom's favorite chocolate candy), which was, like most turtle cheesecakes, good but too sweet.
A week later, R and I went out to Pistilli's Bistro & Pizzeria to celebrate M's birthday. Had to have noodles, so we ordered their signature Spaghetti a la Pistilli baked pasta with meatballs & sausages, served with a side (Greek) salad and fresh garlic knots. We also ordered our usual Stromboli (Calzone with more toppings) with spinach, onions, & olives, and marinara sauce. Yum!
Edit: Two weeks later, we celebrated Mom's birthday! I got this carrot cake from Aldi, on sale (after Easter), marked down $4 (50% off)! The carrot cake and cream cheese frosting were soft and delicious. ^_^ I want more!
