R bought the kittens their own litter box (w/ kitten-safe litter) and food bowl (w/ kitten-size kibble).
Only Ping knows how to use the litter box (b/c R spent so much time making it sit in the mini cardboard one until it went), but we're learning to recognize the specific whine/yowl they make right before they make a mess on the floor, in the boxes, or worse, in one of their cushion beds (why?!), so we can pick them up and put them in their litter box and hopefully teach them to use it.
As if right on cue, a week ago, at 1-month-old, some of the kittens started nibbling on Mama Cat's food and Mama Cat seemed to start to ween them off her milk by separating herself (jumping out of the pen to sit somewhere else for awhile). R fed them water-soggy kibble to start them off, but I'm not sure they ate much of it. I worried that they might choke when eating Big Cat food, but they seemed fine. Anyway, R gathered them all up around their new food dish and kitten kibble, and they dug right in (even Mama Cat, so R had to guide her back to her food and the kittens to theirs, but both still eat each other's food anyway XD;).
Kittens have become a lot more active lately, running, climbing, and wrestling. Quite a handful for Mama Cat and us!
