Kittens went for their second vet check-up. Mama Cat was supposed to go but wouldn't go into the carrier crate, so she was left at home to whine/yowl while the kittens were gone. ;_; But they came back, all healthy, even the little runt Ping, who is still the smallest but quickly catching up in size and speed to the others. As R suspected, Toes is slightly cross-eyed, but her vision should be fine (naturally adjusted). The only problem was that Oreo has a bit of a heart murmur! Apparently, this is common enough in kittens and they grow out of it. We found out that the 4 tabbies, Fred, George, Love, and Toes are all (most likely) females. The vet couldn't 100% determine the gender of Oreo and Ping (maybe in a week or 2), but they are guessed to be males. R said she only wanted to keep females, but we all love baby Ping so much, we don't care if it's a boy or girl. (Mom loves to coo over Ping. She likes playing with the other kittens, too, but since they've become so active in the past 2 weeks, they've become increasingly troublesome, so Mom gets frustrated with their antics, especially Fred, who always runs away, climbs all over, and repeatedly manages to find a way to escape their kitty pen (barricade of boxes)!)
After crying over George, R decided she wanted to keep George and give away Love instead. So lots of "
Good Bye To Love" shots (w/ R, Mama, & Toes) before Possible New Owners visit.
R bought toys for the kittens, but they don't pay them much mind. Their favorite toy is a strip of thin cardboard from a canned cat food pack. XD They just love batting, biting, tackling, and chasing it!
In the afternoon, Possible New Owners came. They instantly adored Love and will adopt her next Friday. (They said about 7-8 weeks is a good age to ween and take home a kitten. They had a cat for 16 years, so at least we know Love will go to expert cat owners and a loving home. R is still weepy though. ;)
