- 6:20 AM wake-up call. (up at 5:30.) breakfast at 6:30.
- ready at 8 AM.
- oh no! M tripped on front steps while waiting for tour bus. bad fall! hurt knees and ankles. ouch! XP! (tour guide later found some local medicine for pain and swelling.)
- drive 8:15-9:15.
- new guide Lily. talked about family remedies. ancient tea recipe. black/green/oolong tea. DoReMi sounds like local Hangzhou dialect.
- seen during the drive: Canon + The Dark Knight Rises ad, Sarah Brightman concert ad, cardboard policeman + flashing police car on side of roads.
- Meijiawu Tea Village - 9:30-10:30. stayed w/ M in courtyard. (can't understand presentation anyway. >_>) shopping: tea health supplements, ginger candy strips, free tea leaves to add to water bottles. :)
- lunch - 11:10-12:00. local dishes. veggies, spicy pork + tofu + veg, fish soup, sweet + sour chicken nuggets, dry salted duck rice, shrimp.
- 12:05-3:45. 4-hour drive to Nanjing.

- Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum - memorial to Father of Modern China. drizzling rain. lots of stairs. stayed w/ M in bus. (mm, Luna bars. LOL bus driver's awesome + loud Peking Opera ringtone! we should use that as our ringtone. then when it goes off and people look at you, you just go, "what? it's my culture. it's the music of my people!" XD)
- 5 PM. more driving.
- new guide, Jackie (from Jackie Chan). 1/4 Korean, very entertaining. XD talked about griffin(?) statue, area history. hates Emperor Chin for sending explorers to look for the Fountain of Youth b/c the envoy settlement later became Japan, so if not for Emperor Chin, the Nanjing Massacre by Japan would not have happened. =/
- 15-min. stop to walk along river.
- dinner at Gourmet Mansion til 7:30. old guy playing on grand piano. then joined by old guy customer singing along. ^^
- Jiangsu Dingding International Hotel - very new & nice! finished just last March. yay, free wifi!
