Philippines Trip, Week 5

Ate Taiwanese food (xiao long bao, 3-cup chicken, beef cold cut, beef noodle soup, dumplings, tofu, tripe?) at Tien Ma and Filipino-Chinese maki & siopao at Masuki (the place Dad used to go to when he was young).

June 24: Summer Palace lunch.
Dim sum: chicken feet, beef ball, pork spareribs, shrimp dumpling; radish cake.
 
Cold marinated chicken. Sticky rice.
 
Beef & veggie soup (stew).
Walked to SM Mega Mall Fashion Hall to see the brand-new DC Super Heroes Cafe! :D Unfortunately, they'd been unprepared for the huge crowd and insanely long lines (4 hours!) at the grand opening the day before and ran out of everything, so they were temporarily closed to prepare to re-open the next day. D: Can't believe I missed this trip "highlight" on my last day! T_T Still, took lots of pics of the cool DC-themed design & decor!

Next time I'm in Manila, I definitely will go to the DC Cafe to eat and take a closer look inside.
Went back to Summer Palace for a refreshing mango cream sago dessert.
Finally, to the airport and the loooong return journey.
Dinner: Adobong manok sa gata--chicken & coconut milk adobo, w/ yellow rice, fried aubergine (eggplant) & tomato; chicken adobo salad w/ green beans & tomato; ginataang mais--rice pudding w/ coconut & sweet corn. Snack: sandwich.
Dinner: Thai chicken red curry w/ chili & vegetable fried rice; orzo pasta salad w/ black beans & sweet corn; milk chocolate mousse w/ cherry compote & chocolate garnish. Snack: vegetarian pizza w/ tomato, melted cheese, & oregano. Breakfast: cheese omelette w/ vegetable croquettes, creamy spinach w/ sweet corn; croissant w/ butter & preserve; fresh fruit.

Philippines Trip, Week 4

June 15: quick browse of Lucky Chinatown Mall w/ cute shops like Korean Mumuso...
Ironically, we ate at Pancake House (marinated beef/pork w/ egg, rice, & salsa was meh). Got Daiso keychain souvenirs for R & M. ^^ Also bought hopia! :D
 
June 17: Father's Day lunch at Summer Palace, then shopping at Chinatown market/mall.
Bought hair accessories & electronic accessories. These flip-flops tickled me. XD
June 18-19: Ate ube, mung bean, custard, & buko pandan hopia. ^^
 
 Filipino siobao (jumbo!) & more hopia.
 
June 20: Dinner at... I forgot the name of the restaurant. >_>;
Mushroom & radish soup. Sweet & sour pork (like take-out), lechon (disappointing), tofu.
 
 Ox tail stew (so rich & flavorful)
 
 Mango sago (tapioca). Mochi (super soft).
 
June 21: Day out w/ Ger & A. :) Got a ride to Bonifacio Global City & met at Central Square(?) mall cinema to watch Ocean's 8. Very funny & exciting heist movie w/ a great female cast. Really liked it. Browsed a Charming Charlie that was closing, but the remaining items still weren't discounted enough for me. Then we went to dinner at trendy Mendokoro Ramenba. Small & crowded but worth the wait.
Gyoza, aji tamago. TanTanMen ramen. Very tasty!

Philippines Trip, Week 3

June 10: bbq chicken bun, mm...
June 11: La Fiesta Filipino Buffet for lunch! Very pretty & spacious, and so much delicious food.
Lechon, ox tail, bbq skewers, roast duck, dinuguan, gyoza, steam buns, & lots more!
 
 Assorted Filipino desserts, including mango pudding! :D
 
 Taro & mango ice cream!!!
June 12: lunch at the legendary Aristocrat restaurant!
Classic bbq chicken platter w/ pickle & yellow rice. Yum!
 
 Mango smoothie w/ adorably tiny beer mug of syrup on the side; samalamig (gulaman at sago).
 
June 13: Buffet 101 for lunch again, this time w/ pictures!
Korean beef, taro cake, egg roll, roast pork, creamy chicken quesadilla. Shrimp, crab, steak.
 
 Watermelon juice, veggie tempura, beef stroganoff, eggplant parmigiana, penne alfredo, pizza. Mango pudding, cherry cheesecake, mango panna cotta, ube ice cream <3.
