Kiwis in Orange County - Part 3

Oct. 18

Right outside WG--and throughout the giant, congested tourist trap that is Orlando--are lots of cool, eye-catching art on all the gift shops:

look at that wizard! too bad i couldn't get a shot of the giant mermaid on another building...

Spent most of the day and some of the evening walking through the 180-store shopping complex Orlando Premium Outlet. Uncle, aunt, and cousin probably had the most fun there. They were hardcore shopping (apparently it's hard to find quality products in NZ that aren't way over-priced). Jeans, sportswear, bras, suits, shoes, etc. By the end, they had like 10 shopping bags. I have no idea how they fit it all in their luggage.

Meanwhile, Mom and I browsed a bit with them, but mostly we just window-shopped and sat on benches waiting with Dad. While getting 2 soft, long-sleeved knit shirts for Dad at Van Heusen, we did find a pretty nice necklace in the clearance section (who knew Van Heusen sold jewelry?). It seemed tangled beyond recognition, but a sales girl fixed it, so we bought it for only $3.

Some random shots I took while I was bored and tired:

Oct. 19-21

Mom and I went back home because R tripped on uneven ground, hurt her ankle, and couldn't walk. Thankfully, the X-ray showed nothing broken, but we're still waiting on the MRI to be sure. Dad remained in Orlando with his brother and family. They went to Epcot and enjoyed the International Food and Wine Festival. Then they relaxed for 2 days. (International travel and full tour schedules make vacations quite stressful and tiring.)
