Kittens: 18 Weeks, 1 Day Old (+ A Love-ly Visit!)

Aww, Mammao napped on Toes' towel. (Could be she misses her, but could also be due to the suddenly chilly floor...)

 

But just as one kitty leaves, another returns! For a week, at least. Love's New Owners are going on vacation, so we'll be kitty-sitting their Renny-Love until Friday. When LNO brought her, she was clinging to her new mama's shoulder and didn't want to let go. But after a few minutes to adjust, she was handed off to Mom and was docile in her arms (Mom has a way of calming all kinds of babies ^^). They gave us her food, bed, leash+harness, and toy, plus care instructions, then said good-bye.

So this is Love now! Still a pretty kitty, still very wary, but still gentle. She'll object loudly, but she hasn't bit or scratched us (yet). She's just scared being away from home.

 

 

 

Renny-Love looked curiously around the house. We wonder if she even remembers or recognizes this as her first home before she left 10 weeks ago. LNO said she likes to eat with their dogs and play with them, chasing them around like the top dog. That might be why she's extra wary of, almost hostile towards, Mama Cat and the other kitties. She even sounds like an angry little dog/cat, growling at them when they get near, in addition to yowling at us and hissing at anything. XD;

I recorded her because it's so cute and funny.



Mama Cat was wary-but-a-bit-curious (her default) and came near but to a safe distance. Not sure if she recognizes Love as one of her own babies, but at least she hasn't deemed her a threat and attacked her (yet), as we and LNO were afraid of. Still, Love is very distressed around the other felines, so we'll be keeping them in separate rooms and feeding them at different times. Also, our kittens may not be happy about the temporary situation either. They were perfectly normal playing with me and Mom, but when R picked them up after napping with Love, Ping and Oreo hissed and nipped at her, possibly because she now smells like this strange new cat-dog. *sigh* I hope this week won't be a catastrophe (heh).
